The Parks and Recreation Department’s mission is to enhance the community’s quality of life by providing innovatively designed parks, connected pathways,
and diverse recreational opportunities for all citizens of Meridian that create lasting memories.
The department maintains roughly 255 acres of developed park land and over 100 acres of undeveloped park land,
including nearly 15 miles of multi-use pathways and 4,000 trees in the urban forest system. They play host to
10 major community events such as CableONE Movie Nights, Christmas in Meridian and Unplug and Be Outside Week.
The department is also in charge of community activities, sports leagues and youth camps that grow in
popularity each year!
