Kings of Swing to Perform in Meridian City Hall Plaza

Meridian, ID – (July 18, 2012) –  The Kings of Swing will present a free concert on Saturday, July 21, at 7:00 p.m., in Meridian City Hall’s outdoor plaza, as part of the 2012 Concerts on Broadway summer music series. The Kings of Swing is an 18-piece big band dance orchestra that performs music popularized by Glen Miller, Benny Goodman, Duke Ellington, Frank Sinatra, and other music legends of that era.

“Our Concerts on Broadway Series continues to grow in popularity and residents of all ages have told me they appreciate the opportunity to enjoy live music so close to home,” said Meridian Mayor Tammy de Weerd. “Our June concert was the largest one to date and we hope to see the many more come out in our vibrant community and take part in this great event.”

Limited seating is available in the plaza’s built-in amphitheatre, which is located at 33 E. Broadway Avenue in downtown Meridian. Attendees are welcome to bring their own folding chairs, blankets, picnic baskets, and beverages.

Concerts on Broadway is a project of the Meridian Arts Commission and is presented by the Union Pacific, with additional sponsorship support from D.L. Evans Bank, Idaho Power, Investment Resources of America, Framed, and Jiffy Lube.
