CITY OF MERIDIAN TO OFFER FOUR $1000 SCHOLARSHIPS

 

Meridian, ID – (February 19, 2010) – The City of Meridian will once again be awarding four $1,000 scholarships to Meridian residents who will graduate from high school in the spring of 2010. 

 

To be eligible, applicants must be a resident of Meridian (students living in an unincorporated area with a Meridian mailing address are not eligible); be graduating in the spring of 2010, and plan on attending an accredited college or vocational education program in the fall of 2010.

 

The scholarships will be awarded to successful applicants who demonstrate evidence of leadership potential through their community involvement, as well as volunteerism, school activities, or work experience. 

 

Scholarship application forms can be found on the City of Meridian web site at www.meridiancity.org and are also available during regular business hours from the Meridian Mayor’s Office located in Meridian City Hall at 33 E. Broadway Avenue in downtown Meridian.  

 

The City will begin accepting applications for the scholarships on March 1, 2010. All completed applications should be sent or delivered to the Meridian Mayor’s Office located on the 3rd floor of Meridian City Hall, 33 East Broadway, Meridian, Idaho, 83642.  All applications must be received by the Mayor’s Office by Thursday, April 1, 2010, at 5:00 pm.
