Meridian Plans Arbor Day Celebration 2010


Meridian, ID – (April 26, 2010) – The City of Meridian Parks & Recreation Department, in conjunction with Discovery Elementary School, will celebrate Arbor Day with a tree planting and ceremony on Thursday, April 29, 2010 at 10 a.m. at Discovery Elementary School, located at 2100 E. Leigh Field Drive in Meridian.


The event will feature the reading of the Mayor’s proclamation by Meridian City Council, and the City will receive the Tree City USA designation and the Tree City Growth Award.


The City Arborist Elroy Huff and the Meridian Parks & Recreation Director Steve Siddoway will give some brief remarks, as will Discovery Elementary School Principal Mike Dudley.


The public is invited to attend this celebration.
