The City of Meridian will present two Town Hall Meetings on the topic of the city’s upcoming transition to fully-automated waste collection.  The first meeting will be held on Wednesday, June 9, at 6:30 p.m., at Chief Joseph Elementary School (1100 E. Chateau Drive), and Monday, June 14, at 6:30 p.m., at Compass Public Charter School (2511 W. Cherry Lane).

These meetings are intended to give Meridian residents an opportunity to ask questions and learn more about next months change to how Meridian’s trash and recycling will be collected, including why Meridian is upgrading to this new technology, what changes residents can expect, and how residents can use this new system most effectively.

Representatives from the City of Meridian and Sanitary Services Company (SSC) will be in attendance. Meridian’s switch to a cart-based fully-automated waste collection system will begin on or around July 5, 2010.
