Meridian Seeks applicants for

the Solid Waste Advisory Commission

 

Meridian, ID – (September 1, 2010) – The City of Meridian is seeking applications from Meridian citizens to fill the newly established Solid Waste Advisory Commission (SWAC).

 It is comprised of private citizens, a City Council member, and several City departments, and works closely with the City’s contracted waste collection service provider.

 

Commission members are appointed by the Mayor, confirmed by the City Council and will initially serve one- to three-year terms, with all future appointments serving three-year terms.  The Commission will meet at least quarterly at Meridian City Hall.

 

Applicants who would like to be considered for appointment to the Commission should send a letter of interest and resume to Meridian Mayor Tammy de Weerd by Friday, September 17, 2010 at 5:00 p.m. All letters should be sent to Meridian City Hall, 33 East Broadway Avenue, Meridian, ID 83642.
