Meridian, ID – (February 15, 2011) – In an effort to make its activities available to a wider audience, Meridian City Council meetings will now be streamed live from the City’s website beginning February 15, 2011.  Webcasts will begin 5 minutes prior to regularly scheduled City Council meetings which are at 7:00 pm on the first, third and fourth Tuesday, and at 6:00 pm on the 2nd Tuesday.  To view the webcast visit 


“We have stepped up our efforts in areas of transparency and accountability.  Citizens can get a closer look at their city government than ever before.  By streaming City Council meetings live online we are helping to keep the public informed and reinforcing our commitment to providing content information on our citizens’ terms. This makes it easier for families to stay at home and stay informed,” said Meridian Mayor Tammy de Weerd.


Webcast City Council meetings will also be made available for viewing on the City’s website for 3 months following the meeting.  Once available, the meetings can be accessed through the video icon on the City’s homepage,
