Meridian Plans Arbor Day Celebration 2011


Meridian, ID – (April 22, 2011) – The City of Meridian Parks & Recreation Department, in conjunction with Chaparral Elementary School, will celebrate Arbor Day with a tree planting and ceremony on Thursday, April 28, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at Chaparral Elementary School, located at 1155 North Deer Creek Lane in Meridian.


The event will feature the reading of a proclamation by Meridian Mayor Tammy de Weerd, and the City will receive the Tree City USA designation and the Tree City Growth Award.


The City Arborist Elroy Huff and the Meridian Parks & Recreation Director Steve Siddoway will give some brief remarks, as will Chaparral Elementary School Principal Doni Davis.


The public is invited to attend this celebration.
