Public Works

The City of Meridian's Public Works Department manages and maintains the City's water and sewer infrastructure and provides services and programs that help every resident. Transportation infrastructure (roads and bridges) is managed by Ada County Highway District (208-387-6100) and Idaho Transportation Department (208-334-8000).

Agency Description

The Meridian Public Works Department’s mission is to anticipate, plan and provide exemplary public services and facilities that support the needs of our growing community in an efficient, customer-focused and financially responsible manner. The Public Works Department is responsible for providing clean, safe drinking water and treating wastewater to strict environmental and regulatory standards for all residents in the City of Meridian. The Department is responsible for coordinating trash and recycling services with our franchise partner, Republic Services. The Department is responsible for environmental programs like stormwater and floodplain management. Additionally, the Department provides engineering review and inspections on City and development-driven projects throughout the City. The Department also administers the City’s streetlight program.
