Frequently Asked Questions

City Council agendas are approved on the Friday preceding the Tuesday City Council meeting. After this approval process the agenda will then be, along with posting on our website, posted in the lobby of City Hall and outside the main front doors. We also provide a subscription service that you can register with to have the latest agendas and minutes emailed to you.

City Council meetings are held on the first four Tuesdays of each month at 4:30 pm for a Work Session, followed by a Regular Meeting at 6:00 pm. If a Tuesday happens to be a holiday, city election or primary/general election, the meeting is held the following Wednesday. Meetings are not scheduled on a fifth Tuesday of the month, unless a Special Meeting is called.

Yes. The hearing process is designed to alert City leaders to public concerns. You can ask questions and/or testify either in favor of or in opposition to the project. If you decide to speak you will have three minutes to do so. Click here for suggestions that might be helpful as you prepare to share your opinion.

Public Hearing notices are sent to property owners or purchasers of record (as listed in the current records of the Ada County assessor) owning property within three hundred feet (300’) of the property being considered. This noticing is extended to property owners within one thousand feet (1,000’) of the external property boundaries if the application involves heavy industries and/or wireless communication facilities. If you feel there has been an error, please reach out to us at cityclerk@meridiancity.org so we can research.

Yes they can, all meetings by City Council are open for anyone to attend. If they wish, they can contact the City Clerk’s Office prior to the hearing and the City Clerk can arrange for the troop to lead in the Pledge of Allegiance. The City Clerk’s Office can be reached at 208-888-4433.

Yes we do. Assistive listening devices are available by contacting the City Clerk’s Department at least 24 hours in advance of a city meeting.

Yes. Most City Council meetings are streamed live on the City’s Youtube Page.
