Meridian Celebrates Meridian Pool’s 50th Season with a New Mural

WHEN: Friday, May 19 at 12:00 PM
WHERE: Meridian Pool (213 E. Franklin Rd. Meridian ID)
WHO: Meridian Mayor, Meridian Arts Commission, Meridian Parks and Recreation, West Ada Recreation District, and Artist Team Sector Seventeen

The City of Meridian invites local media to a public art ribbon cutting ceremony at the Meridian Pool, featuring a new mural by local artist collective Sector Seventeen. The mural was a collaboration between Sector Seventeen, West Ada Recreation District, and the Meridian Arts Commission.

The Meridian Pool will be opening for its 50th season this summer. “The mural will be a great semicentennial showcase for new and returning patrons alike,” says Shaun Wardle, Board President of the Western Ada Recreation District. “The design highlights the aquatic opportunities that the Meridian Pool has been providing to children for the past 49 years. The entire area has been refreshed and brightened by the mural installation. Western Ada Recreation District is proud to display this mural in the City of Meridian for many to appreciate.”

The Meridian Pool will open to the public on Monday, June 5, 2023. For more information about the Meridian Pool, visit www.meridiancity.org/meridianpool

Media can contact Meridian Arts and Culture Coordinator Cassandra Schiffler at (208) 489-0399 or cschiffler@meridiancity.org with questions.
