Meridian, ID – The City of Meridian is currently accepting applications for entries for the annual Winter Lights Parade scheduled for the evening of Friday, December 6, at 7:00 pm, in downtown Meridian. Floats, walking groups, bands, motorized and animal entries will all be considered, but each must be festively decorated and brightly lit.
This year’s hour-long parade can accommodate approximately 50 entries and is themed “So Bright You Gotta Wear Shades.” It will be hosted by radio personality Michelle Heart from 107.9 Lite FM and Meridian Mayor Robert Simison. The parade, which ushers Santa Clause into town and marks the official start of the Christmas in Meridian festivities, will be followed by live entertainment and the lighting of the City Christmas tree located in Generations Plaza (corner of Main & Idaho in downtown Meridian).
Details about parade participation, along with an online parade application form, can be found at meridiancity.org/winter-lights-parade.
The Meridian Winter Lights Parade is coordinated by Meridian Parks and Recreation with sponsorship support from TDS.
