MERIDIAN- Members of the community are invited to help celebrate the 72nd Birthday of Sparky the Fire Dog. The Meridian Fire Department has organized two separate events on Saturday, March 18, 2023 to help celebrate Meridian’s favorite fire prevention dog.
Sparky’s Birthday Party: Sparky’s free Birthday celebration will take place at the Meridian Library (1326 W. Cherry Lane) from 10:00am-11:00am. Sparky the Fire Dog and Meridian Firefighters will be there to read stories about Sparky, tour a fire engine, enjoy cupcakes, and provide giveaways for attendees.
Open Fire House: Meridian Fire Station 6 (1435 W Overland Rd. Meridian, ID 83642) will open its doors to the public between 1:00PM and 3:00PM. Sparky the Fire Dog, Meridian Firefighters, and the Meridian Fire Community Risk Reduction Team will be on site to welcome visitors; offering station and engine tours, pictures with Sparky, and education and prevention material for families.
