Transportation Commission
MERIDIAN – The City of Meridian is currently accepting applications from those interested in serving on Meridian’s Transportation Commission.
This Commission is a forum for transportation planning and project development. Commissioners focus on the advancement of a safe, efficient and multi-modal transportation network relating to roads, transit corridors, bike lanes, sidewalks, pathways and lighting. The Commission’s duties include reviewing and recommending priority road, intersection and other projects, including those contained in the Ada County Highway District’s Five-Year Work Plan. The Commission also evaluates speed limits, identifies projects to improve pedestrian safety and develops ways to improve overall safety on Meridian roadways.
Meetings are held at 3:30 pm on the first Monday of each month with the exception of September due to Labor Day. Meetings are held in the City Council Chambers at Meridian City Hall and on Zoom. The Commission consists of nine voting members serving three-year terms.
Meridian residents, business owners, and employees of Meridian businesses are eligible to serve on the Transportation Commission. Applicants must be at least 18 years old and have an interest in transportation planning and traffic safety. An interest in bicycle safety and advocacy is encouraged. In selecting candidates, the City will strive to choose candidates who represent different geographic areas of Meridian.

In addition to the application, a letter of interest and resume should be sent to Mayor Robert Simison at Meridian City Hall, 33 E. Broadway Avenue, Meridian, Idaho, 83642. All information should be received by close of business on Friday, May 5, 2023.
