Trash or Treasure
April 30th – May 1st, 2022
Our sixth annual Trash or Treasure event is here. This City event provides residents with the opportunity to set out clean, gently used, no longer wanted household items at the curb. It's like garage saling, but free. Fellow residents (treasure hunters) can use the Treasure Map to collect these items, giving them a new life and diverting items from the local landfill.
Registration opens April 1st and closes April 29th at Noon.
Event Location: Neighborhoods within Meridian City limits.
Timeframe: Saturday and Sunday, 8am to 8pm.
For Local Donation Businesses: If you are a local donation business and interested in acquiring items, the City allows local non-profits to look for items only on Sunday, May 1st from noon to 8pm.
This event is followed by the residential Spring Clean Up Event (May 2nd - May 6th). If you would like to participate in both, you can sign up within the Trash or Treasure Registration.
How to Participate:
To have your unwanted items (treasures) available to the public and to be placed on the Treasure Map so individuals can locate them, you must register. The resignation button is located at the top left of the page.
Place your items at the location where you normally have your trash collected. If trash is picked up in the alleyway, place items at the curb in front of your home. Remember to remove items from your yard that you don’t want accidentally taken by mistake.
Print out the Participant Yard Sign (located on the top of this page) and place it on your items or close to the items you are setting out.
NOT Accepted : basketball hoops with cement footings attached, bathtubs, boats, construction & demolition debris, fence posts, hot tubs, large car parts, pianos, tires, tube TVs, or business waste.
