Call to Artists: Initial Point Gallery
Artwork Deadline for Applications: Wednesday, June 1, 2022 at 5pm
The Meridian Arts Commission invites artists to apply for the display of artwork in Initial Point Gallery. Initial Point Gallery is located on the third floor of Meridian City Hall and is free and open to the public during City working hours. Initial Point Gallery displays one to two month long art exhibits, providing approximately 100 linear feet of wall space for hanging two-dimensional artwork and four enclosed display cases for three-dimensional artwork. The gallery typically features multiple artists and organizational group exhibits in the space each month, but established artists may receive solo exhibitions.
Call to Artists: Five Mile Creek Pathway Trailhub Public Art Project
Deadline to Respond to Request for Qualifications: Friday, June 3, 2022 at 5pm
The Meridian Arts Commission (MAC) and Meridian Parks and Recreation request artists or artist teams to submit qualifications for the design, fabrication, and installation of a public artwork at the Five Mile Creek Pathway Trailhub at 3430 N. Ten Mile Road. Up to four qualified finalists will be selected to develop and submit public art proposals and will receive $1,000 for their initial design proposals. The artist or artist team with the final selected proposal will be awarded a contract (or contracts) of up to $50,000. The artist or artist team will be responsible for artist fees, insurance, engineering, fabrication, and installation, and any site preparation and restoration, permitting, travel, meeting with City of Meridian staff as necessary, contingencies, and all related incidental expenses.
Call to Youth Artists: Tully Skatepark Mural Artist Apprenticeship
Deadline for Applications: Wednesday, June 15, 2022 at 5pm
The Meridian Parks and Recreation Department and the Meridian Arts Commission (MAC) are seeking youth artists to apprentice with professional mural artist Miguel Almeida to collaborate on the design and installation of a new mural at Tully Skatepark. The selected youth artist will be awarded a $1,000 contract for services provided in the apprenticeship.
