Keith Bird Legacy Park is a neighborhood park located near Chinden and Ten Mile in the Bainbridge Subdivision. Construction on the park began in Spring 2017 and it celebrated is grand opening in Fall 2017. Keith Bird Legacy Park’s features and amenities include a concrete walking path, picnic shelter, restroom, playground, outdoor gym, public art, open play area, and various tributes to Keith Bird.

The park is named after Keith Bird. Keith who served five terms as a Meridian City Councilman. Keith and his wife Marjorie moved to Meridian in 1965. As a strong advocate for youth in the community, he brought Y Basketball to Meridian in 1978, helped organize American Legion Baseball in 1979, helped build Brooks Baseball Field in Storey Park in 1982, and worked with Youth Optimist Football since 1966. Keith was selected for the Optimist Football Hall of Fame in 1988.

Keith actively supported and was a member of the Meridian Athletic Association, Meridian Athletic Roundtable Association, Meridian Speedway, Meridian Dairy Show Board, and the Meridian Chamber of Commerce. He was a member of Meridian Centennial Committee in 1993 that raised funds for restoring the Pine Street School and helped in the celebration of the Meridian Centennial. He was voted Meridian’s Man of the Year in 1996, and received the Meridian Mayor's Legacy Award in 2009.

Keith passed away on February 1, 2019.
