What's New: Changes in Plastics Recycling

Click here to view an overview, answers to questions and a LIVE DEMO of what can and can't be recycled.

Message from Republic Services:

Effective immediately for Southwest Idaho - Due to changing global markets, ONLY the following plastics are allowed in the recycling cart without lids:

Milk Jugs

Pop/soda bottles

Fruit juice bottles/jugs

Detergent jugs

These plastics include threaded tops and have a #1 or #2 on the bottom. All other plastics must be thrown away or recycled elsewhere. Taking the banned plastics out of the recycling cart will ensure other materials will be recycled. When in doubt, throw it out.

Republic Services will be sending out more information throughout January and February. Questions? Contact csidaho@republicservices.com.
