PREVIOUSLY RELEASED on 11/27/23:
MERIDIAN, ID – A water main break is currently impacting traffic on Meridian Road south of Franklin Road, near Gem Street. Crews are on scene and working to repair the break and will be working through the evening commute. The affected water line has been shut off to facilitate repairs. One southbound lane on Meridian Road is currently open, with two lanes expected to open around 6 p.m.
Once the water main is repaired, work will begin to repair the roadway. Commuters can expect a full closure on Meridian Road from Franklin Road to Gem Street on Tuesday, November 28 around 9 a.m., following the morning commute. The full closure is expected to last through Thursday, November 30. Commuters should use Eagle or Ten Mile roads to access the freeway or detour using Locust Grove Road for north/south travel.
Motorists are advised to use caution and allow extra time for their commute, using alternative routes and following traffic detours. Local residence and business access will be maintained.
