“Of Leaf and Petal” - New Art Exhibit in Meridian City Hall’s Initial Point Gallery

MERIDIAN, ID – On Tuesday, April 1, Meridian City Hall’s Initial Point Gallery will open a new art show titled “Of Leaf and Petal”, showcasing artwork by six local artists. The artists include Suzi Butler, Claire Remsberg, Jessie Swimeley, Jill Storey, Cindi Walton, and Mary Arnold.

This exhibit highlights the botanical diversity we encounter every day with a multiplicity of flora in a variety of mediums and subjects. From trees to flowers to weeds to leaves, the artists celebrate a range of plants through glass, printmaking, photography, and painting. Each artist is attracted by something different in the natural world, whether it be the forms of the plants, the color, the textures and patterns seen or created, the uses of plants, the ecological significance of plants, or an emotional response to the subject.

Initial Point Gallery will hold an Artist Reception for this exhibit on Tuesday, April 1, from 4:30 – 7:00 pm. The exhibit will remain on display through Friday, April 25, 2025.

Initial Point Gallery is located at 33 E. Broadway Avenue on the third floor of Meridian City Hall in downtown Meridian. The gallery, which is curated by the Meridian Arts Commission, features a rotating series of art exhibits highlighting a variety of local, regional and national artists. It is open weekdays from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, excluding holidays. The gallery and Artist Reception is open to the public and free to attend.
