MERIDIAN - Reservations for the Meridian Public Works Department's "Go with the Flow" Facilities Tour are now open. Residents are invited to join on Monday, May 19, 2025, from 5:15 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., starting at Meridian City Hall.
The exclusive chartered bus tour offers residents a behind-the-scenes look at Meridian's critical infrastructure. Participants will experience a guided tour with stops at Meridian’s iconic Water Tower, a well, a lift station, and the Wastewater Resource Recovery Facility, gaining knowledge of complex systems and dedicated people who ensure everything flows when you need it to.
"We're excited to host another year of our 'Go with the Flow Facilities Tour,'" says Laurelei McVey, Public Works Director. "This free, informative tour provides a unique glimpse into Meridian's water and wastewater infrastructure. You will get a behind-the-scenes, up-close tour of some of our complex water and wastewater facilities that provide essential service to the entire community every single day. The tour does fill up every year, so we encourage residents to reserve their spots early."
The "Go with the Flow" tour is part of Public Works Week, an annual event highlighting the importance of Public Works in Meridian. This year’s theme, “People, Purpose, Presence,” emphasizes Public Works Professionals’ motivation to serve their communities. Meridian Public Works is in the background 365 days a year, 24 hours a day advancing quality of life for all.
