Discovery Park

2121 E. Lake Hazel Road, Meridian

Discovery Park, located in south Meridian at 2121 E. Lake Hazel Road, between Eagle and Locust Grove Roads, is Meridian's newest regional park. At approximately 64 acres in size, this park boasts several of Meridian's most unique and exciting amenities.

The park’s features include a playground and splash pad; a sand and water play area; dual zip lines, roller slides, and a small climbing wall. Its Active Area featuring six pickleball courts and two tennis courts dual-striped for pickleball; bocce ball courts; a 40-yard dash challenge; and basketball courts. The park’s Teen Area has a skatepark, a sand volleyball court, hammock poles, and a shelter with WiFi. The park's attractions also include a bike park and pump track; three additional softball fields (two of which can be illuminated for nighttime play); public art pieces and artisan-made benches; picnic shelters; a restroom/concession building; paved walking paths; and room for a future community garden.

(Please note that Discovery Park’s bike park, pump track, and skatepark will be closed during wet or inclement weather that might impact safety or the integrity of these amenities.)

Picnic Shelters Available to Rent:

Note: During times when there is not a paid reservation on a picnic shelter, it may be used for free on a first-come first-served basis.

Picnic shelters may not be reserved or occupied between 2:00 and 4:00 pm daily (with the exception of full-day reservations), as this is when crews come through to clean the shelters.

Green Shelter
Capacity: 250
Rental Fee: $125 plus tax per 4-hour time block (9am–2pm or 4-9pm)
Rental includes access to power and use of free charcoal grill  

Red Shelter
Capacity: 150
Rental Fee: $90 plus tax per 4-hour time block (9am-2pm or 4-9pm)
Rental includes access to power and use of free charcoal grill  

Blue Shelter
Capacity: 75
Rental Fee: $75 plus tax per 4-hour time block (9am-2pm or 4-9pm)
Rental includes access to power and use of free charcoal grill  

Tennis & Pickleball Courts

Discovery Park has 2 Tennis Courts which are dual striped for pickleball.
Court 1 is non-reservable.
Court 2 is reservable at $5 per hour.

Discovery Park has 6 Pickleball Courts. 
Courts 1,2,3 are non-reservable.
Courts 4-6 are reservable at $5 per hour.
Reservation season is March 1 - October 31 annually.
Courts are always open first-come first-served when there is not a paid reservation in place. Public Use with Rotation. Players need to share the court when there is a paddle line of players waiting.

Softball Fields

Discovery Park has four illuminated adult slow-pitch softball fields. Fields #3 and #4 will be reservable beginning 6/1/2024 at a rate of $5 per half hour or $75 maximum for the day. To have a field illuminated will result in an additional charge. 

Discovery Park also has one non-illuminated youth fast-pitch/senior softball field which will be reservable beginning 6/1/2024 at a rate of $5 per half hour or $75 maximum for the day.
