Julius M. Kleiner Memorial Park is a 58-acre regional park established in 2012. The park was a gift to the City of Meridian in honor of the man who once farmed the land on which the park is now located.
Bandshell/Amphitheatre, Half-Court Basketball, Bike Racks, Bocce Ball, Center at the Park (Meridian Senior Center), Community Garden and Pollinator Garden, Concession Stand, Drinking Fountains, Interpretive Displays, Labyrinth, Obelisks, Public Art, Off-Street Parking, Open Play Areas, Pathway, Picnic Shelters (5), Playground, Stocked Fishing Ponds, Accessible Fishing Dock, Restrooms, Rock of Honor Veterans Memorial, Rolling Hills, Sand Volleyball, Pickleball Courts, Splash Pad, Statue of the Late Julius M. Picnic Shelters Available to Rent:
Note: During times when there is not a paid reservation on a picnic shelter, it may be used for free on a first-come first-served basis.
Picnic shelters may not be reserved or occupied between 2:00 and 4:00 pm daily (with the exception of full-day reservations), as this is when crews come through to clean the shelters.
Shelter A-1 (just south of the recreation complex)
Shelter Capacity: 400 (generally 25 picnic tables)
Reservation Time Blocks: 9am - 2pm / 4pm - 9pm
Rental Fee: $150 plus tax per 4-hour time block
A propane, industrial-sized barbecue griddle is available to rent per event date ($100 plus tax) in Shelter A-1.
Rental includes access to power and use of free charcoal grill.
Note: The built-in propane barbecue griddles at shelters A-1 and B-1 in Kleiner Park are not reservable at this time. If you have a reservation at one of these shelters and are interested in utilizing a griddle, please contact Meridian Parks and Recreation after April 1 at 208-888-3579 to inquire if a griddle rental can be added to your reservation. Please note that there are charcoal grills available for use at each shelter; you must provide your own charcoal briquets, lighter fluid, matches, and cooking utensils.
Shelter A-2 (just north of the recreation complex - playground & splash pad area)
Shelter Capacity: 100 (generally 8 picnic tables)
Reservation Time Blocks: 9am - 2pm / 4pm - 9pm
Rental Fee: $75.00 plus tax per 4-hour time block
Rental includes access to power and use of free charcoal grill
Picnic Shelter A-3 (northwest of the bandshell; 550 feet from the playground)
Shelter Capacity: 100 (generally 8 picnic tables)
Reservation Time Blocks: 9am - 2pm / 4pm - 9pm
Rental Fee: $50 plus tax per 4-hour time block
Rental includes access to power and use of free charcoal grill
Note! Shelter A-3 is near pickleball courts. This location maybe affected by the sounds and sights of game activity.
Picnic Shelter A-4 (northeast of the bandshell; 775 feet from the playground)
Shelter Capacity: 100 (generally 8 picnic tables)
Reservation Time Blocks: 9am - 2pm / 4pm - 9pm
Rental Fee: $50 plus tax per 4-hour time block
Rental includes access to power and use of free charcoal grill
Shelter B-1 (just north of the labyrinth and east of the Meridian Senior Center)
Shelter Capacity: 500 (generally 25 picnic tables)
Reservation Time Blocks: 9am - 2pm / 4pm - 9pm
Rental Fee: $125 plus tax per 4-hour time block.
