Sparklight Movie Night    "Date Night"

Join Meridian Parks and Recreation for the first-ever Date Night at Sparklight Movie Night, presented by MADC, on August 8, featuring Guardians of the Galaxy! Grab your significant other, and friends for a fun and free evening under the stars. We’ll inflate our giant outdoor movie screen at Settlers Park to showcase this PG-13 film.

*Youth will not be excluded who attend with a parent or guardian.

A special thank you to all the volunteers this season!

Movie night wouldn't have been the fun-filled community event it was without your hard work and dedication.

Frequently Asked Questions

No one under the age of 18 will be permitted to attend the movie night without a parent or responsible guardian present for the duration of the event. As a family event, a parent or guardian is required to check in with their youth and stay during the event.

We don't have an exact time when we will hit the play button each week; instead we wait until it's dark enough to see the movie clearly. Typically it's about 20 minutes after sunset.

You are welcome in the park at anytime.  But, most folks set up their chairs and blankets after 7:00 pm so they have a good idea about the direction of the movie screen.

Tall camping style chairs are welcome in the back and side areas.

There are so many things to do in Settlers Park before the movie starts!  First, each Friday night our sponsors bring a variety of fun activities.  I enjoy making groovy tunes in our Sound Garden.  Most kids (and some  adults) can be found cooling off in the Splash Pads.  Grab a treat from the concession stand.  Or, bring your lawn chair and read.
We support relaxing in all it's forms.

You are more than welcome to bring your own picnic!  Please be aware, alcohol is not allowed in the park at anytime.  Settlers has a concession stand and often we have food trucks on site.

It takes a village to create a movie night.  It is the vision and production of the Meridian Parks and Recreation staff. Add to that a plethora of local businesses including Sparklight - our title sponsor for all 15 years. Local businesses sponsor a season or a night. Mix in a dash of volunteers and you have amazing summer tradition. If you enjoy the evening, be sure to tell them!
